The PV CYCLE DTS

The PV CYCLE DTS is a UK-focused initiative of PV CYCLE, the international, industry-led take-back and recycling solution for photovoltaic (PV) panel waste, and provides a comprehensive set of services to Distributors.

Under new Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Regulations, retailers and installers (known as Distributors) selling PV panels for private households are obligated to have a procedure in place to take back PV waste or must contribute towards a Government-approved Distributor Take-back Scheme (DTS) to finance collections from local authority sites.

The PV CYCLE DTS provides PV Distributors with an alternative to being required to set up an independent free take-back service. A certificate – issued by PV CYCLE upon registration with us – provides as proof of compliance.

Your alternative solution

In addition, Distributors can benefit from our expert advice and guidance on Distributor-related topics under the UK WEEE Regulations. Access to our dedicated communication tools (such as posters or leaflets) allow PV Distributors to fulfill their obligations to ensure that information is provided in appropriate locations on site and on their website.

Accreditation

The UK Government has recognised that PV panels will not appear at local authority collection sites and the alternative PV CYCLE Distributor Take-back Scheme has been authorised by the Secretary of State specifically for the PV sector. Consult our collection network here.
